Your track of the day
My song of the day is ‘Disarray’ by Lianne La Havas. It’s such a stripped back, personal song which magnifies her incredible songwriting. The melody really hits you hard, I think she’s a genius.
What time of day do you feel most inspired?
At night time! When I allow myself some time to think at the end of a busy day, suddenly all my song ideas come pouring out. So my housemates have definitely heard me recording voice notes at 2am as I scribble down lyric ideas…
What do you daily to get into your creative mindset?
I journal in the mornings, I’ve got to do my 3 morning pages! (iykyk). And one of the main things that inspires me is watching artist documentaries or behind the scenes videos… not sure why, it just reminds me of what I’m aiming for.
Tell us a bit about your self-care routine
Boxing is my self-care routine. When I go to training a big part of my routine is ticked off the list. Also, doing evening skincare while watching ‘Gilmore Girls’ makes me feel complete.
Where's your favourite space to experience music?
There’s nothing that compares to seeing your favourite artist at a concert. I literally cry every time someone I listen to walks out on stage. I’m such a fangirl… My sister went to see Joy Crookes with me and I sobbed, I sobbed watching Kendrick Lamar, I sobbed when I saw RAYE live. The list goes on. I go on such a journey when I love an album, so seeing it live is a full circle moment and brings everything to the surface again.
You’re about to release your latest EP ‘Luna’ out into the world, how are you feeling?
I’m excited for people to hear it! Overall I’m very proud of the project and how far it’s come from the beginning stages where the songs were just fleeting thoughts. I’ve worked with a great group of people on the project and I couldn’t have done it without them!
PRODUCER & MIXER : MISTRY

On Instagram you said that with this project: you finally feel like you’ve come home”, what is it about this project that makes you feel like this?
As I wrote these songs alone at home with my piano, everything feels a bit more personal. I love collaborative writing and I love what I’ve made so far, but being alone opened up an even more honest space for my songwriting. And it’s the first time I’ve openly written about the grief of losing my Dad in ‘Fix It’.
What would you like listeners to take away from this project?
I hope that listeners can listen to the lyrics and delve a little deeper into themselves and their unique situations. I want my listeners to feel heard and held through difficult times, whether that’s grief, loneliness or self-doubt. This EP is really just my stream of consciousness while navigating my 20s. I also want it to be a reminder that there is always some light in the gloom. And after every difficult night where you can’t sleep and your head is spinning, there’s a morning light that follows. All we can do is try to make the best of it.
Can you tell us a bit about the inception of this project?
Throughout ‘LUNA’ there are references to the moon & space in the lyrics and this partly comes from the fact I tend to come up with ideas and be productive at nighttime. There’s also a feminine energy that’s associated with the moon and I want to highlight that this is a female led project. It was really empowering to be able to trust myself and my songwriting abilities. I was finally confident enough to share my ideas without someone else’s approval. It’s also an ode to my middle name, Luna.
This is your second EP, how do you feel you’ve developed as an artist since your first project ‘Falling Apart at the Seams’?
I’d like to think my writing has improved with practice. It’s a never-ending journey, I'll always have more to learn. But I also know a little bit more about production and how to request the sounds and ideas that I’m having in my head to a producer. For most of these tracks I created a rough demo beforehand and that helped to dictate the sounds that MISTRY used. He made it sound miles better than I ever could. Also, I comped the bass, piano and drum takes for each song! So I was properly involved in the process.
Where is somewhere you’d really love to perform this EP live?
I’d love to play ‘LUNA’ at a beach. I don’t know why that just popped into my head but I think the sounds of waves would blend well with the music.
You’ve lived in multiple places from California, Stroud to Liverpool. It’s your last 24 hours on Earth, where are spending it and why?
Hmm, good question. I’d love to go to Trinidad and spend 24 hrs eating fresh mango, drinking coconut water and relaxing on the sand. While a steel band plays in the background.
If you could time travel for the day, what era of music would you most like to visit?
I’d love to visit the 70s to hear Stevie Wonder. I can’t even say ‘in his prime’ because every era is his prime… but I think that would be an amazing experience.
You have 24 hours to master a musical skill, what is it?
Guitar! I have always wanted to learn but somehow I’m always surrounded by guitarists so I end up not needing to know the skills.
You have 24 hours, which musician/industry person would you spend it with and why?
Hayley Williams. I need to understand how she writes songs. It’s mindblowing.
Is there anything in the ‘Luna’ pipeline we should keep an eye out for? / What’s next?
More singles in 2026! I’m already working on new bits and bobs and I’m loving the direction. Recorded vocals the other day in Gloucester and the harmony stacks were getting slightly out of hand…
