Your song of the day
Loud Bark - Mannequin Pussy. Big. Tune.
What time of day do you feel most inspired?
Usually night time when I am supposed to be winding down... I really don't know why. I know I am much more of a night owl than an early bird, I think when I try to relax at night all my creativity starts coming through because I am chilled, which makes me hyperactive in return ironically haha.
What do you daily to get into your creative mindset?
I think I am just always in a creative mindset, tasks like 'normal' work just interrupt those thoughts sometimes but they are always flowing, for me anyway. I just get the urge to pick up the guitar and write some stuff, or when I'm driving or walking I might get a random melody and make a voice note, it isn't thought out. When I get down to forming the actual song- that's when I get more in depth and make thought out, creative adjustments and choices.
Tell us a bit about your self-care routine
Cups of tea and walking my dog in green spaces!!!
Where's your favourite space to experience music?
Intimate concerts because you can get in the pit, get close or have a good view and be fully immersed! Or in my car, just because you can choose whatever you want to suit your mood and as loud or quiet as you want.
Favourite song you've release to date
ooo probably Cloud 94 because it's the first step into my new era
5 artists you'd want at a day festival?
Mannequin Pussy
Ecca Vandal
S.O.A.D.
Fit For An Autopsy
Amyl and The Sniffers
Walk us through your live show prep
Water, water, water- repeat. Eat, vocal warm-ups, stretch (especially my neck so I don't give myself whiplash), cheeky steam for the vocal chords. Oh and don't forget the big, black eyeliner. Ready.
You have 24 hours to master a musical skill, what are you choosing?
I would love to master the drums, then I could get drum ideas out exactly how I want to instead of making some noises and hoping my drummer understands.
You have 24 hours, which musician/industry person are you spending it with?
I'm going to have to say Amy Taylor - Amyl and The Sniffers. She's one person I have to meet before I die! I love everything she stands for, does and I think we would get on well and end up doing some silly sh*t together.
If you could time travel for the day, which era of music would you most like to visit?
90s of course, preferably Seattle! That would be wicked.
What's next for you?
My 2nd EP is coming late 2025.
